CONCEDE took part in the UFC 114 Rampage vs. Rashad conference call today, with Dana White hosting the call. It didn’t take long for both fighters to start taking shots at each other .
Rashad: I’m not going to underestimate Quinton, I’m probably going to fight the best Quinton that ever fought.
Rampage: Me taking time off proved to be pretty good for my body. I fought a lot of fights back-to-back, and this camp went perfect. My body’s doing good and I feel I can train harder. I injured my jaw during the Wanderlei fight.
Rampage: The Fight is different than a movie. Work is work. I’m not even thinking about the movie I’m focusing on this fight.
Rampage: It’ll be a moral victory for me. Rashad couldn’t hold the belt after a fight. I want to teach this guy a lesson. Who is this guy? Fighting this guy is kind of like taking a step backwards.
Rashad: Who is he to fight me? I beat Forrest, he almost got finished in the second round. Stop acting like just cause you’re black your stupid.
Rampage: I never fought anyone I hated as much as Rashad.
Trash talking ensues...
Rashad: The best part of this sh*t is that in 2 weeks we’ll get to answer who’s better.
Rampage: I trained real hard for this fight with Tom Black Legs. I did enough while I was doing the movie.
Rashad: I focused more in cardio for this fight
Dana White: Quinton finished shooting the movie in December
Rampage: All he’s going to do his weak ass takedowns. Claims that Dana said that Rashad backed out of the fight and wants to keep his belt longer.
Rashad: Rampage backed out after the fight being offered after the Jardine fight.
Rashad: Rampage perpetuates the stereotype that he’s stupid
Rampage: You’re gay, you play with your nipples and wear those little shorts.
Dana White: The winner is going to get a title shot.
Bisping vs. Dan Miller made sense for co-main event after Forrest was injured
Rashad: I brought in King Mo, I really improved my takedowns with the best wrestler in the game.
Rashad: I’ll be able to stay cool and stick to my strategy
Rampage: The last thing on my mind is losing my cool.
Dana White: These kind of fights happen every once in a while. Sometimes you get a fight where people dislike each other. People enjoy when two guys generally want to fight together. I’m not expecting a post fight punch.
Rashad: You got to be disciplined. It’s kind of fun everytime I don’t want to do something I think about what I said
Rampage: The title shot is kind of weird cause I’m training for this fight like it’s five rounds. For the title shot to be next is sweet, I feel like I’ll be back on track as being one of the best fighters in the world.
Rampage: Michael hurt one of the sparring partners, we’re going to have to get new sparring partners. A guy with you with a glass jaw shouldn’t be talking like you (Rampage).
The trash talking between both men ensued about prior fights...
Rampage: Everything was cool until he came up to me after the Jardine fight. I watched the pay-per-view and he was dissing me the whole fight.
Rampage: I’ll cross the bridge when I get to it. I fight for money and I work. I’ll go wherever I make the money.
Dana White: They’ve eclipsed Ken and Tito. Even though Rampage is an actor you can tell that they’re not acting.
Rashad: I mimicked Quinton when I was helping Jardine train.
Rampage: I feel the universe is on my side. Shogun I never should’ve taken the fight I was injured. I felt that Shogun couldn’t hurt me and I took that fight for the money. It makes me want to put a hurting on Rashad and then Shogun. I trained 13 long weeks for this training camp.
